Accessibility Home Design Consulting

Jennifaye V. Brown, PT, MSPT, PhD, NCS, CAPS has been conducting home assessments for over 25 years making recommendations to accommodate auditory, visual and physical disAbilities incorporating universal design that is ADA compliant and customer-centered addressing the cultural nuances of the those inhabiting the space. In 2017, Dr. Brown became a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) by the National Association of Home Builders to address home design for aging in place of individuals with a disAbility. She has taught a course in Disability Management for four years to students earning a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Ohio University. Students were required to conduct an assessment and then redesign a home, work or leisure space to accommodate an individual with a visual, auditory and or physical disAbility after interviewing and acquiring information to meet the needs of all stakeholders (e.g. caregiver or employer). Dr. Brown taught the history of the ADA and thoroughly reviewed all of the ADA standards for public and private spaces. Dr. Brown is more than qualified to redesign your home, work or leisure space based on her expertise.

Dr. Brown will meet with all parties involved needing to use the space, complete a home and or work space evaluation and provide a detailed report with recommendations and itemized costs including labor for the client to have if they choose to negotiate with their own vendor.

Dr. Brown charges an hourly rate. For details, please contact her via the form below. Allow 72 hours (3 business days) for a response.
